A personal invitation is always best but in addition to that you’ll find promotional materials such as post card invitations, posters and banners help to reinforce and remind people of your invitation and generate interest from couples outside of your personal reach. For example, place a press advert in your church magazine or local newspaper.
- Put up posters and banners outside your church or chosen venue.
- Give out post cards invitations to couples in your church or hand them out in your community
- Ask local businesses to put up your posters to advertise your event
Promotional materials are available to purchase online at alphaprintshop.org where you can customise these items at no extra cost. You can also download some online tools and artwork from the online Resources section.

Online
- Advertise your event on your Church’s website, include an electronic invite or web banner on the homepage of your churches website. Make sure the date, time, venue and contact information are clear on all your communication.
- Register your course on The Marriage Course website and add details of your launch event to the free text box on the form.
- Also for some additional free publicity, if you are running an event in Marriage Week 7-14th February, post your event details on their website, marriage-week.org.uk which will then ensure couples can find your event.
- Along with personal invitations, set up a Facebook event page for your friends to invite their friends online.
- Tweet your invitations and send regular messages of when your event is taking place.
We’d love to share your invitations so feel free to post on our wall on Facebook or send us a Tweet on Twitter.
Local Media
- Team up with other churches in your area and place an ad in the local paper. You can list the launch events or parties that will take place and The Marriage Courses that will follow in your area. Submit a feature idea and photos to your local paper.
- The local radio station may also be interested in relationship or marriage tips during Marriage Week (7th-14th Feb). So why not use the opportunity to send in ‘3 top tips for a great marriage’ and advertise your course coming up soon.
