Inviting Guests

Everyone appreciates a personal invitation and it’s the most effective way to encourage guests to come to your event. If you get your whole church involved, you can easily reach a lot of couples in your community:

  • Promote it from the front of the church
  • Encourage everyone to invite one couple
  • Give them an invitation to pass on.
  • Include the invitation in the weekly announcements on Sunday
  • Put posters in strategic locations: e.g. notice boards at church, library, town hall, gyms, etc.
  • Include articles and ads in your church magazine and on the website

Who can you invite?

Remember The Marriage Course is for any couple who wants to invest in their relationship, whether they’ve been together for one or sixty-one years, whether they feel they have a strong relationship or are struggling and whether they are married or are living together. So think about inviting:

  • Friends, family, neighbours and work colleagues of members of the congregation
  • Current and previous wedding and baptism candidates
  • Community groups (e.g. Scouts, Guides, Mother and Toddler groups)
  • If your church is running Alpha and/or The Parenting Courses, invite current and previous guests

Make a final push the week before your dinner as most people only decide to book on at the last minute.
